Sole to Soul Yoga Studio Teachers

Valeria, Owner @ Sole to Soul

Hello, I’m Valeria, owner and heart of Sole to Soul Yoga Studio. I purchased the studio in March of 2022 as the pandemic was slowly lifting. Many of us lost our community connections during that time, and I was aching to get mine back. My vision for the studio is a community space where people come to reconnect with their bodies, heal their hearts, and awaken their souls. I believe that yoga is for everyone and everyBody. No matter your shape, size, age, ethnicity, or ability, my aim is for all souls to find joy in the movement medicine of yoga.

My journey into yoga and feeling good in my body has been somewhat transformational. Since childhood, I've experienced food trauma, body shaming, and weight cycling. I tried insane diets that helped me lose my hair and my mind. I've even tried intense workouts that can make you almost black out.

In January 2019 I decided to try yoga. I realized that being so hard on my body wasn't helping me physically or mentally. That’s when I found Pacific Yew Yoga, and my healing journey with yoga began. Wendy Lu Humphries, owner, and my mentor guided me to discover myself through yoga. I found community at Pacific Yew Yoga and soon started facilitating monthly New Moon Women’s Circles. (we still meet every new moon at Sole to Soul). Wendy encouraged me to begin yoga teacher training later that year. Initially, I was not inclined to teach. Since teacher training, I've realized that helping others break down barriers and find peace in their bodies/practice is magic and part of my dharma (soul’s purpose). I’m no longer concerned about my body image and I love all of my curves. I feel stronger and healthier in my body than ever before in my life. Self-love and respect are part of my daily yoga practice.

I teach a vinyasa-style class. Simply meaning flowing with the breath in and out of each posture. It's Like a relaxing movement meditation. Beginning yoga classes are one of my favorites. Teaching new students the benefits of yoga and exploring ways to make it accessible for them brings me much joy.

I completed my 200-hour Satya, Be True teacher training with Wendy Lu Humpries at Pacific Yew Yoga, Albany, Oregon in December 2019. I completed my advanced 300-hour teacher training at Samadhi Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh, India with Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi in October 2022, Reiki Level 1 at World Peace Yoga School, Rishikesh, India in October 2022. Currently working with Dianne Bondy Yoga, Yoga for All, Yoga for Bigger Bodies, and Chair Yoga.

I continue to develop my yoga practice and dream of someday hosting traveling retreats and yoga river trips. Currently, I live in Albany with my husband Ben, 2 adult children Peyton and Gage, and of course, my pack Lucy and Jude. We hope you can come along for our journey and add to your story at Sole to Soul Yoga!

She began her studies in Hatha and later discovered a passion for Vinyasa Flow style of yoga, which she models her classes after. Ryan

Ryan first began to practice Yoga in 2010 after completing physical therapy for a major knee surgery. From this experience, he takes a holistic approach to yoga focusing on building strength, stability, and flexibility in his practice. Shortly after starting his practice he enrolled in a 200 hour Hatha teacher training at the Movement Center in Portland, Oregon that he completed in 2011.

After that, he taught yoga at Oregon State University while he majored in horticulture as his area of study. In his spare time he studied Vedic, Tantric, and Taoist philosophies, and is a devout practitioner of their principles, which influenced his choice in studying horticulture in order to have that connection with our food, where it comes from, and how it’s grown.

After completing his studies at OSU Ryan moved to Thailand where he taught English for two years living amongst the ruins and temples in Ayutthaya, and Chiang Mai. Before returning to the USA he spent two months in India in a 500 hour intensive Ashtanga yoga Teacher Training. Here he deepened his practice further incorporating mantras, pranayama, and meditation into a more consistent practice.

Upon returning to the United States he returned to the Corvallis/Albany area where he teaches around the area in addition to his job as a groundskeeper for a small farm.

Trish

Trish grew up in the beautiful Willamette Valley and has been practicing yoga there since 2007.  She has 3 kids and loves to cook & entertain family & friends. She gardens, remodels homes, and has a successful career in mortgage lending.  Her teacher trainings have focused on the Baptiste style of yoga - a practice that combines a power flow with a heated environment. “I love the challenge that yoga provides. The blend of a physical flow with concentrated holds and a warm room allows me to narrow my mental focus.  Which in turn, brings me more in touch with my emotions and how I show up in my life.” Power yoga is a great counterpart to weightlifting and cross-training.

Jamie

Jamie found her passion for yoga starting from a young age in 2016. She grew up in San Jose, California, and attended an art university in Los Angeles. During the pandemic, she found a kitten in a bush, which further pushed her to move to Oregon. She now has 3 kitties that she loves wholeheartedly. Jamie completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Samadhi Yoga Kula at Sole to Soul Yoga Studio with the guidance of Valeria Pearson and Rose Kress in 2024.

Her desire is to help others to find a channel of creativity, self-expression, and equanimity in their life. Jamie guides creative vinyasa flows that develop strength with a mindful focus on the breath and conquering constructive views of the self to free the mind and spirit. She provides modifications for each asana and welcomes everybody.

Jamie has practiced for 8 years, which paved the way to share her wealth of knowledge and deep love to others seeking peace. No matter the circumstances or the discomfort that life throws at us, she believes yoga helps anchor us in our authentic selves. Having seen the mystic sign, yoga led her into a balanced lifestyle with a disciplined mind and a grateful heart.

During her free time, she loves to dance & do tricks with hula hoops, hanging out in the forest or the river, fulfilling her artwork, reading any good book, and of course, spending time with her kitties. You can find her teaching Intermediate Vinyasa on Saturdays @ 11 am - 12:15 pm

As an avid nature lover, Kelsey often draws inspiration from the outdoors. Connecting with the earth is part of her practice.

She is Also known as a Kitchen Witch at our local restaurant Homegrown Oregon Foods. When Kelsey isn't on the mat, she's brewing herbal teas, concocting nourishing meals, and infusing the kitchen with magic. Her culinary creations are an extension of her soul—a little bit hippy, and a lot of love. She’s an avid lover of animals, music, and a proud and protective mom and wife.

Kelsey completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Samadhi Yoga Kula at Sole to Soul Yoga Studio with the guidance of Valeria Pearson and Rose Kress in 2024.

Samantha

Hi, I’m Samantha Schacher, and I’ve been practicing yoga since I was 16 years old. My journey into teaching began after my COVID deployment in 2021 when I earned my 200-hour certification. Yoga has been an anchor for me through life’s challenges, and it’s my honor to share this transformative practice with others.

I specialize in Vinyasa, guiding classes that are accessible and welcoming to all bodies and experience levels. For me, yoga isn’t about how “good” you are at the poses—it’s about showing up for yourself, connecting your mind, body, and spirit, and creating space to just be.

In my classes, you’ll find a judgment-free zone where you’re encouraged to explore, grow, and breathe. Whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, my goal is to make you feel at home on your mat and help you connect deeply with yourself during our time together.

Let’s flow, breathe, and grow together!

Her mission is to help others set and work toward their wellness intentions and make mindful movement accessible to all communities.

Kristine moved to Oregon in 2023 to begin a PhD in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences. In addition to yoga, she is passionate about enjoying and preserving natural spaces and spends a lot of time in the Klamath River where her research takes place.

Her style is intuitive, integrated, and focused on the whole person - body, mind, and soul. Maria

Say hello to Maria, a new yoga teacher passionate about helping you unleash your
inner Zen while having a blast! Maria mixes ancient wisdom with modern flair to make
yoga not just a practice but an adventure for everyone—from curious rookies to
seasoned yogis.

Maria didn’t stumble into yoga—she limped into the studio! Years ago, after multiple
injuries and amidst the whirlwind of daily life, yoga revealed itself as the perfect
antidote. What started as a quest for physical fitness quickly transformed into a mission
to master the art of body-mind harmony. Today, Maria is on a mission to share the
magic of yoga with everyone, one pose at a time!

Certified, verified, and bonafide! Maria honed her skills under Rose and Valeria’s
tutelage at Samadhi Yoga Kula and earned her registered yoga teaching certification in
breath-based, trauma-informed training influenced by Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Kundalini,
Gentle, Adaptive, and Life Force Yoga styles, making her classes super versatile and
enjoyable!

Yoga isn’t about pretzeling yourself into impossible shapes or touching your toes while
reciting poetry—at least not in Maria’s classes! Here, it’s all about progress over
perfection, celebrating your unique journey, and laughing along the way. No pressure,
just fun, and growth in an inclusive, supportive space!

When not transforming lives through yoga, Maria is busy exploring her other passions
like binge-watching feel-good shows, tending her chickens, or traveling to new
destinations. These experiences often inspire creative class themes that add an extra
dash of fun to every session.

Charlotte

After nearly 15 years of cultivating her personal yoga practice, Charlotte followed an intuitive call to embark on the next adventure in her yoga journey – becoming a teacher!

Her deep respect for the ancient roots and cultural origins of yoga is reflected by her intentional integration of mantra (sound), mudra (hand gestures), and pranayama (breathwork) into her Hatha/Vinyasa influenced classes. She compassionately invites students to apply the wisdom of Yogic/Vedic philosophy to face the challenges and fluctuations of the present moment. She believes yoga to be one of many streams leading to an inevitable ocean of liberation and unity, at both the individual (micro) and collective (macro) scale.

Charlotte spends her time away from her mat leading a social justice-centered community garden, and connecting with Mother Earth by frolicking around the wild landscapes of the PNW. She loves to dance with hula hoops and other flow arts props, especially if there is live music involved.

She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Samadhi Yoga Kula at Sole to Soul Yoga Studio with the guidance of Valeria Soares and Rose Kress in 2025. She considers movement a pillar of her daily practices, fortifying her physical, mental, and spiritual vitality. She looks forward to pursuing more movement certifications, like Pilates and Barre, to offer fusion fitness classes in the future.

Kat

Kat finds connection, invigoration, and relaxation in yoga. She discovered her love for yoga in 2015 when she was looking for a place to just be, and found a local yoga studio where she made new friends and found personal support. In her practice, Kat enjoys the physical and mental benefits of moving her body while tuning in to herself, freeing her mind from worries and other thoughts. She loves incorporating vinyasa into all of her classes for the energizing flow and heat it creates, followed by longer-held yin-like postures for deeper relaxation. As a mom of three, Kat craves the balance between invigoration and relaxation that yoga provides. She even became certified in prenatal yoga before her second pregnancy with the goal of bringing this practice to the Corvallis Albany area and building a community of fellow gestating moms.
